Bideford-based 10-piece band Soul Intention will be closing out the year with a free gig at The Pier House in Westward Ho! this New Year’s Eve.
The band has a four-piece horn section that provides the essential ‘big sound’ needed for the soul and Motown classics they play to fill the dance floor all night long.
This year, for the first time, Soul Intention will include a northern soul segment in their set as well as their own unique take on the traditional Auld Lang Syne for people to join in with as 2024 arrives.
Doors open at 8pm and the band will be playing from 8.30pm. Rumour has it there will be fireworks too… (see page 4!)
It has been an unusual year for Soul Intention, with a 50-50 split of private and public gigs. The latter included Here for the Music Festival at The Big Sheep, the Sands of Music at the Waterfront in the Ho! and Bideford music Day in Victoria Park.
Soul Intention already have some bookings for 2024, but would welcome further enquiries. Sax player Penny deals with all the band bookings. Penny can be contacted on 07811 -971491 or email penny@soulintention.org.
