It’s time to stir yourself because this year’s Queen’s Theatre Christmas Pantomime is opening tomorrow night (Wednesday, December 13) for its festive season run – oh yes it…. you get the idea!

There will be no snoozing between scenes of this year’s production as the timeless classic Sleeping Beauty returns to Barnstaple with a stellar cats that promises fun for all the family.

Barney Harwood of CBB and Blue Peter fame headlines the show in the role of Lester the Jester, plus Lauren Hendricks returns as Fairy Flora by popular demand.

The line-up also includes Sue Appleby, straight from the West End production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, playing the role of Carabosse (Malificent for those Disney fans)!

Best-selling synth pop artist Natalie Gray takes on the leading role of Princess Rose and is joined by Dereck Walker in the role of her mother Queen Camilla and Zak Marx as love interest Prince Philip.

Sleeping Beauty is produced by the team behind last year’s hugely successful reimagining of Jack and the Beanstalk, Red Entertainment, and will run at the Queen’s Theatre right up until December 31, with a mix of evening and matinee performances.

Expect music, dance and comedy in the best tradition of panto, with some surprise cast members lined up too.

Fans who might wish to snap their fingers and be transported into a world of princes and princesses, evil witches and fire breathing dragons might also want to check out a new AI technology app at Green Lanes Shopping Centre.

Red Entertainment has joined forces with the centre to provide audience members the chance to snap a picture in special locations and watch something otherworldly come to life!

Go along to the Sleeping Beauty exhibition stand and if you’re lucky enough to have tickets for the Queen’s Theatre pantomime this Christmas, you will also be able to see the stage come to life in Augmented Reality before the show.

Tickets for Sleeping Beauty are available via queenstheatre-barnstaple.com or by calling the Box Office on 01271 316523.
