Staff, volunteers and supporters of Children’s Hospice South West are inviting people to join them on Saturday, December 16 at Bideford Pannier Market for this year’s Carols by Candlelight.

Admission to the 6.30pm event is free to all for an evening of Carols, Christmas merriment and celebration supporting your local children's and adult hospices as part of the annual Light Up A Life Appeal.

Emma Perry, head of fundraising at Children’s Hospice South West, explained more about the event: “We are delighted to be holding Carols by Candlelight in the historic Bideford Pannier Market, where we have organised an evening that the whole family will enjoy.

“There will be a Carol service led by Reverend Claire Rose-Casemore from St Marys church, accompanied by the very popular Bideford Town Band, singing by St Mary’s Primary School Choir and Christmas readings.

“There will also be an opportunity to light a candle for someone special and enjoy festive refreshments afterwards. Admission is free, with any donations going to Children's Hospice South West and North Devon Hospice. We look forward to welcoming you at this year’s event, thank you.”

Christmas is a special time of year for so many of us. A time to create new memories with people we love, but also a time to reflect and remember loved ones who live on forever in our hearts.

The Carols By Candlelight service is a special way to remember the life of someone close to you at Christmas, young or old, while helping to provide care for another family facing the most difficult of times.

Adding a dedication and an optional donation is a wonderful reminder that your loved one’s memory continues to shine bright and can be viewed at anytime on Children’s Hospice South West’s beautiful dedication page www.chsw.org.uk/light.

The Light Up A Life appeal is kindly sponsored by James Electrics and you can also donate at www.lual.co.uk.

Your donation and support will mean so much to local families this Christmas.
