Glow is back at RHS Rosemoor this November
Magical and popular light trail and entertainment event returns to RHS Garden Rosemoor in Great Torrington for the festiove season
The magic of the popular RHS Rosemoor Glow illuminations returns next month as families are invited to gear up for the Christmas season.
The event will see RHS Garden Rosemoor at Great Torrington transformed into a wonderland of light displays and sound installations from November 16, running right through until the very end of December.
A seasonal favourite, this year’s illuminations offer the longest route though the gardens yet, combined with six atmospheric soundscapes setting the stage.
Discover a shimmering woodland wonderland, behold a ‘field of fire’ and enjoy family entertainment every night, from magicians to live music, light performers and more.
This year for the first time, Rosemoor is working with lighting experts SLX on a reimagined route that will give visitors the chance to experience the garden rooms, woodlands and open spaces in a new light.
The installations feature specific statement pieces, such as ‘Para Luna’ in the Devon Heritage Orchard, together with ambient lighting curated to spotlight sculptures from Rosemoor’s annual winter exhibition and seasonal garden highlights.
Guests can enjoy family entertainment every night, ranging from magicians, live music, fire artists, light performers and costumed characters.
Performers this year include the Merlin Fire Show, Narnia characters, Fire Gypsies, a Snow Fairy and illuminated penny farthings, poi artists, hoopists and stilt walkers.
Live music is also on offer from performers Chloe Marie Aston, Jules Moberly, Rosa Rebecka, Rose Ball and Darren Sturgess (check dates online).
Visitors can explore the trail beneath the stars, marvel at tree canopies awash with colour and be spellbound by light reflections on the surface of the lake while enjoying tasty takeaway treats from the Otter Café.
Choose from a scrumptious soup with cheese scone or a delicious hot pasty, frangipane mince pies or gingerbread reindeers, mulled wine or an indulgent Black Forest hot chocolate (with or without Kirsch).
Or, take the weight off your feet in the Garden Restaurant and enjoy an Exmoor beef brisket bap with beer onions and blue cheese or Moroccan spiced vegetarian burger with minted yoghurt (both served with wedges and coleslaw - advance bookings only).
The garden is also hosting three artisan food and craft fairs on November 16-18, November 23-25 and December 2-3.
All tickets must be booked in advance, and the trail is only open on selected days from November 16 to December 30, so visitors are advised to book early to secure their preferred date and time. RHS members enjoy early access to booking and discounted ticket prices for Glow. Works Christmas bookings are available too.
