The new business units at Roundswell
Planning permission has been approved for 30 business units at Roundswell Enterprise Park, Barnstaple.
ONYX Business Parks purchased the site at Roundswell earlier this year with a commitment to deliver the new business units at a high specification.
They will be built to the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ benchmark and provide flexible space of between 1,000 and 20,000 sq ft with the options for bespoke tenant fitouts.
ONYX Business Parks Director Charles Berry said: “We are delighted to get the go ahead for this development allowing us to provide superior options for start-ups and small to medium businesses looking to expand.
“We are also proud that ONYX Business Parks has a presence in Roundswell Enterprise Park, the flagship business park development in the North Devon.
“Alongside superb quality, businesses are clearly also looking for premises that focus on sustainability and flexibility.”
In line with Onyx business parks highly sustainable agenda, particularly with using renewable energy and energy efficiency goals, Onyx will include solar PV and EV charging points, insulated panel technology to reduce operational costs and covered bicycle storage to encourage sustainable transport.
With an impressive show of positivity and optimism from the business community, Onyx has already had high levels of interest in the new estate.
Providing new employment opportunities in the area, construction of the units is due to commence in the autumn with ompletion anticipated by next summer.
