Bideford runners triumph in Wales and Ireland

Bideford Amateur Athletic Club celebrated some superb results over the weekend, showcasing North Devon talent in the Republic of Ireland and Wales.

Simon Mugglestone proudly adorned the Bideford jersey for the Kinsale Regatta five-miler in County Cork and recorded a blistering time of 0:27:53 to finish 17th, a run that placed him equal fourth in the V55 Run Britain rankings. Simon also picked up the club record in the process.

Shaun Antell, meanwhile, swept all before him to take victory in the ABP Barry Island 10k in Wales, another fabulous performance and great for Bideford AAC to enjoy such success away from home.

Closer to these parts, interest is growing for the Bideford 10 Mile race on November 5, which will support the North Devon Hospice. Runners of all abilities are invited to enter and will receive a new 2023 medal, plus a race t-shirt.

The top three male and female finishers will win a cash prize, with £250 on the table for those who finish first, plus a £50 bonus if the course record is broken. The race starts and finishes close to the Bideford AAC clubhouse and enjoys fine views of the Taw and Torridge estuary. Best of all, the course is fairly flat.
