Community Payback in action - Credit: Gov.uk
Members of Parliament are being asked to nominate projects as Community Payback Projects and Selaine Saxby, MP for North Devon wants to hear from members of the public with their thoughts.
Community Payback is where offenders work on projects to pay back the community for their crimes, for example by removing graffiti, clearing wasteland, decorating a community centre or other works that benefit the local community.
The work must not take paid work away from others and not make a profit for anyone.
Selaine Saxby MP said: “Anyone can make a recommendation but having been specifically asked what my recommendation would be, I think it only fair to ask constituents what their thoughts are. My proposal and indeed all recommendations need to be in by the 11th August, so please do email me directly at selaine.saxby.mp@parliament.uk as soon as possible with your thoughts.”
Anyone can make their own personal recommendation to CP_@justice.gov.uk with the name of the project or organisation, where the work would take place, a short description of the work to be done and your contact details.
