Oarsome results for the Bideford Blues

Despite the torrential downpours it was a very successful day of rowing at the Exeter Regatta for Bideford Blues. The short, 400m sprint on Exeter Quay resulted in some very exciting races.

It was first place medals for Sophie Evans, Hannah Evans, Harry Fanson, Barney Evans and Finley Cloak (see results below) but great performances by all the young rowers.

Lexi Reeves put in a great performance in the WJ16 sculls race, easily winning her heat but had to settle for 3rd in the final.

Results: Barnie Reeves - J14 Scull - 3rd in heat; Lexi Reeves - WJ16 - 1st in heat - 3rd in final; Finley Cloak - J15 - 1st in heat - 1st in final, - J16 - 1st in heat - 3rd in final.

Harry Fanson - J18 Scull - 2nd in heat - 2nd in repechage (losing by a foot in both races) - SC doubles - 1st in heat - 1st in final (with Barney Evans).

Barney Evans - SB Scull - 1st in heat - 1st in final, - SC Scull - 1st in heat - 2nd in final, - SC doubles - 1st in heat - 1st in final (with Harry Fanson).

Sophie Evans - W Novice double - 1st in heat - 1st in Final (with Hannah Evans), - WSC double - 2nd in heat (with Hannah Evans), - W Novice Scull - 1st in heat - 2nd in semi-final.

Hannah Evans - W Novice double - 1st in heat - 1st in Final (with Sophie Evans), - WSC double - 2nd in heat (with Sophie Evans).

The Bideford AAC Rowing Section was founded in 1897 and is widely regarded as one of the premier clubs in the South-West.
