Bideford charity football
Charity event at the Sports Ground
The celebrities are coming to Bideford for a charity football match on Sunday, July 9 and it is guaranteed to be a brilliant day of fun and footy.
Tickets are priced at just £11 per adult and £6 for Under-16s and OAPs. They are available from www.sellebritysoccer.org.uk, with the doors opening at 1.30pm ahead of a 3pm kick-off.
As well as stars from our screens, there will be some serious football pedigree on display, including two former professionals local to Bideford. Gary Sawyer enjoyed a superb career at Plymouth Argyle, where he became club captain, and Marc Edworthy is another former Pilgrim, who also played for Watford in the Premier League.
The Robins have also been reflecting on a superb season for their Under-18 side, winning the Devon County Youth League at the first attempt.
As well as starring at their own age group, the ultimate ambition for the Under-18s is to progress to first-team level, and Blake Shapland is one who has made that next step with admirable confidence. Blake has been a regular for the Robins in the Southern League and there are more joining that pathway.
