Do You Believe in Ghosts? is coming to Ilfracombe

Do You Believe in Ghosts?, an experiential ghost story, will soon be shedding light on some of North Devon's ghostly residents at Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe.

Ilfracombe is known to have it’s fair share of ghosts. One of these being located in Chambercombe Manor.

It is believed to date back to the 11th century. The majority of the manor is original, and its excellent preservation adds to its allure.

The Champernon family held Chambercombe Manor until the 15th century when it was taken over by the Duke of Suffolk.
However, following the execution of Lady Jane Grey, the daughter of the Duke, the property passed to the crown. Lady Jane Grey is one of the reputed ghosts said to haunt the manor.

In 1738, a workman making repairs to the house made a startling discovery. He noticed a window that didn't correspond to any room inside the manor. Upon investigation, he found himself in Lady Jane Grey's bedroom, where he reportedly encountered the apparition of a skeletal woman.

Chambercombe Manor has gained notoriety for paranormal activities over the years. Some visitors claim to have captured pictures of ghosts within the building, could these also be Lady Jane Grey, or is she not alone in these hallowed walls?

Entertainers are pleased to announce the 180+ show UK tour of Do You Believe in Ghosts? is coming to Ilfracombe as part of its nationwide year-long tour.

Do You Believe in Ghosts? is an experiential ghost story that will be showing at Landmark Theatre on, August 16, 2023.

Do You Believe in Ghosts? opened at Bedford Corn Exchange on Thursday, May 18, before heading around the UK for a year-long tour.

The production promises to be 'unlike anything you have experienced before'. James Lee Taylor said: “Theatres are alive with stories when the lights go out. And they all have a theatre ghost.”

Do You Believe in Ghosts? boasts it is an original play unlike anything you have experienced before – a new way of ghost storytelling!

Do You Believe in Ghosts? has been created by producer James Lee Taylor and award-winning writer and director Julian Woolford. James Lee Taylor and Julian Woolford come together to create this haunting night of theatre.

Do You Believe In Ghosts? is an original play brought together by a collection of experiences told through ‘paranormal experts’, whose passions are uncovering the unspoken realities of the stage by night, the experiences you only hear whispered in the wings, the unexplainable sightings and the one light that guides them home.
