Four fire crews attended reports of a property fire near Beaworthy last night (Tuesday).

Three fire crews were called out to Halwill near Beaworthy to reports of a property fire yesterday (Tuesday).

On arrival at 10pm crews from Holsworthy, Hatherleighy and Okehampton discovered one private house with a fire in the ground floor living room.

Crews then needed a positive pressure ventilation fan so the second crew from Okehampton were mobilised.

Fire fighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one safety jet, one covering jet, two thermal imaging cameras, one gas monitor, small tools, the positive pressure ventilation fan and lighting to extinguish the blaze.

The living room was slightly damaged by the fire, heat and smoke and the remainder of the property was damaged by smoke.
