The 80-year-old was involved in a single vehicle collision near Truro and died shortly afterwards in hospital.

An 80-year-old man from Holsworthy has died after a single vehicle collision near Truro on Friday.

Emergency services were called at 10.45pm after a blue Fiat Panda left the road near to The Whitehouse Inn on the A3075 at Perranwell near Goonhavern.

The male driver was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to Treliske Hospital where he later died.

The road was closed for more than four hours for police to examine the scene of the collision.
