It was celebrations all round when aNorth Devon tourist destination was named as the winner of a top national accolade. Hidden Valley Park, near West Down, was announced as winner of the Gold National Excellence Award for Caravan Holiday Park of the Year

It was celebrations all round when aNorth Devon tourist destination was named as the winner of a top national accolade.Hidden Valley Park, near West Down, was announced as winner of the Gold National Excellence Award for Caravan Holiday Park of the Year at a special event held at the National Railway Museum in York .Martin and Dawn Fletcher, who have owned the park for the past nine years, were presented with the award by comedian, Michael McIntyre. "This is a tremendous achievement for the team and for our business as a whole," said Dawn. "All our hard work and commitment is rewarded on a day to day basis by the positive comments and feedback that we receive from our customers. But to win this prestigious accolade is the icing on the cake! We really are so very happy and proud." National judges described the park as "an outstanding touring site catering for both caravanners and tent tourers, with an excellent commitment to the environment and a standard of customer care which all tourism businesses should aim to emulate".As well as the luxurious caravanning and camping on offer, locals, guests and other tourists staying in the area can all enjoy the facilities on the 27-acre wooded park, described by conservationist David Bellamy as a "wildlife wonderland". Among the attractions is a Therapy Suite with holistic treatments including facials, pedicures and massage.
