An eight-coach GWR 125 Intercity high speed train will be making a rare visit to Barnstaple tomorrow (Sunday). Around 500 passengers are expected to arrive at the station at 12.24pm on the special Tarka Tourer service departing London Paddington at 8.37am. Visitors will be able to explore Barnstaple or take an optional coach excursion to Woody Bay Station. The empty 125 will return to Exeter at 12.31pm to leave the Tarka Line free. It will then arrive back in Barnstaple for the return journey at 4.30pm, arriving back in London at 8.43pm. It is thought to be the biggest train to visit the station in a generation.
