SOME interesting North Devon properties are opening their doors to the public again this year under the Heritage Open Days Scheme.
Visitors will be welcome from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. from September 9-12 when they will have opportunity to look behind the scenes and find out more about the history of ancient houses, etc, not necessarily open to the public.
One of these is Trimstone Manor House, Woolacombe, on the spot of a settlement mentioned in the Domesday Book.
Of particular interest to that one is the redundant waterwheel, part of the property's more lowly heritage during a period as a working farm.

Heritage Open Days are managed by the Civic Trust, in association with English Heritage and are now England's largest voluntary event, with more than one million visitors exploring an ever-expanding range of places and spaces.
Trimstone is one of ten properties in North Devon which are opening under HODs this year. They range from a classic 1970s home to Barnstaple's historic Guildhall.
