NORTH Devon's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) team has launched a project to compile a photographic record of the man-made features that make the region special. It is asking local people to identify and photograph buildings, features, patterns, materials and designs that make North Devon's coastal communities so distinctive. The project will run through the summer, although pictures submitted before July 6 will go into the Hidden Treasures category of this year's Local Life Photographic Competition, part of the Festival.Fabulous prizes, courtesy of J&A Cameras and Ricoh Cameras, are up for grabs for the winning entries.AONB project officer, Dave Edgcombe, said: "We're looking to identify what is distinctive about the ordinary, rather than focusing on listed buildings and conservation areas."Mr Edgcombe added: "We're keen to be able to demonstrate to designers and developers those things that really matter to those who live here."
