Weather warning and flood alerts in place for North Devon this morning (Mon).

HEAVY rain is falling across North Devon this morning (Mon) with a yellow weather warning in place until midday.

Barnstaple, Braunton, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin have also been under a flood alert since yesterday afternoon.

A spokesman for the Met Office said: “An Atlantic frontal system will push east across the UK on Sunday night and during Monday, bringing widespread rain which should become lighter and patchier later on Monday morning.

“Highest rainfall accumulations are likely to be in western parts, and current saturated ground conditions and high river levels in parts of Devon and Cornwall means that there is potential for some minor disruption due to river flooding here.”
