VISITORS are invited to an A to Z of enjoyment at the Heanton Church Alphabet Festival on the first weekend of June.

From Friday, June 4 to Sunday, June 6 there will be 26 displays with flowers, one for each letter, plus an art exhibition, stalls with light refreshments and quizzes for children.

There is also an opportunity for those who are able to climb the 90ft high tower of the church at Heanton Punchardon and enjoy stunning views across the Taw estuary to Lundy Island and beyond.

The event begins with a short service on the Friday at 10am and then is open from 10.30am until 4.30pm on both Friday and Saturday.

On Sunday afternoon there will be cream teas on the Rectory lawn and a Songs of Praise service.
