Hat’s off to Petroc students

Graduates celebrate their achievements at tomorrow’s annual High Street graduation procession

COLLEGE students will be celebrating their graduation at a special town centre ceremony in Barnstaple tomorrow (Saturday).

More than 100 students are expected to take part in the sixth annual Petroc Higher Education procession and ceremony, which will form on the Square at around 10.30am.

Graduates will parade along the High Street at 11am before a service to celebrate their achievements in St Peter’s Church.

The ceremony will begin at 11.30am and is expected to last for an hour.

Liz Lewis, the deputy head of learner recruitment, said: “We have students young and old, many who have returned to education after a long time, overcoming time commitments to gain their foundation degree.

“It will be a wonderful occasion for the town, the students and their families.”
