WATCH the birdie and more beside with a half term week devoted to feathered friends at RHS Garden Rosemoor in Torrington.The whole family is invited to join Birds in the Garden week, which runs until Sunday, with a variety of birdie-themed activities to take part in, including Bird I-Spy, Bird Walks, Nest displays and a children's photographic competition.February is a perfect time for seeing birds in the garden. They are more easily spotted without the leaves on the trees and at Rosemoor there are a huge selection of resident and visiting birds frequenting the many feeders around the site.Buzzards, ravens, chaffinches and song thrushes, as well as tawny owls, barn owls, little egrets and goldfinches have all been spotted at Rosemoor and visitors may be lucky enough to see some of the birds occupying the 108 nest boxes situated around the garden.Tomorrow (Wednesday) there will be a visit from the owl and raptor rescue group, Owls are Us, with a variety of different species of owls on hand and able to answer questions on anything owl related!
