A SOUTH Molton businesswoman who has spent more than three decades helping people in the town to stay beautiful is taking time out to pamper herself! After 36 years at Tony's Hair and Beauty Salon, in East Street, hairdresser and beauty therapist Jean Rockall has retired.Jean, 60 this November, has handed over the beauty side of the business to therapist Kelly Hocking; husband Tony will continue to cut hair at the salon.Jean and Tony, who trained in London, took over the East Street salon after moving from Surrey in 1972 - complete with tank tops, platforms, miniskirts and false lashes."We were young and trendy at the time and I suppose we were seen as outsiders when we first moved to the town," said Jean."Although my parents were originally from Bideford, it took us quite a while to settle. But we've made South Molton our home and have built up a very successful business over the years."I've seen lots of different hair styles come and go, from the bouffants of the late 1960s, hair-pieces in the early 70s, male perms and shampoo and sets."I'm looking forward to spending a lot more time on the golf course and in renting out the beauty side of the business to Kelly, I know all my old clients will be well looked after.
