The Habit hotel in Ilfracombe has changed hands.
A private buyer has taken on the property in Fore Street in a deal brokered by Colliers International, with an asking price of £750,000.
The five-floor property – formerly known as the Crescent House Hotel and the Tree House Hotel – has been empty since early this year, when it had been leased by the Joshua Tree Project.
It has 11 rooms, gardens and sea views and is ‘packed with original features’.
Ed Jefferson from Colliers International’s hotels team said it was great to see such a grand building brought back in to the public realm.
He said: “Our clients set about an ambitious refurbishment of all the public areas, bringing 11 of the rooms to an unrivalled standard. There are a further nine rooms waiting to be fitted out.
“There is also a planning application at the consultation stage to develop eight flats in another part of the building which the new owners may retain or sell off.”
