Green Lanes owners and Topshop both unable to confirm shop’s future
There is uncertainty surrounding the future of Barnstaple’s Topshop following the publication of plans to revamp the High Street entrance to Green Lanes.
Shopping centre owners Rockspring Property Investment Managers submitted plans to North Devon Council last month, which would see the entrance on the corner of High Street and Joy Street drastically modernised.
The plans include a café which would include outdoor seating – but that would need to be opened in the current Topshop unit.
A spokesperson for Topshop said: “Topshop has been made aware of the plans but is unable to confirm any further information at this stage.”
A spokesperson for Rockspring said: “A number of discussions are under way at the moment regarding the plans for the Green Lanes shopping centre, but nothing has been finalised.”
