The parade made its way around the town, followed by tunes from the town band in the Square.

Lara Gasiorowski was chosen as the carnival queen and was attended by Emma Lewington and Keeley Tucker.

A spokesman for the May Fair and Carnival Committee said: “Thank you to all those who made such an effort and took part in the carnival and to all those who helped to steward, judge, close roads, collect money, and everything else - it couldn’t happen without you.”
