YOUNG people in Hatherleigh are getting a helping hand from the famous Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in London .The village youth club has been having a rough time. It had to close for six weeks at the end of last year and is currently only able to offer one night of activities a week for 11 to 18-year-olds.Yet is has a membership of 150 and up to 50 young people attend the weekly sessions. But now the club has had an offer from The Tin Pan Annie Band, based at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. It has offered to do a free concert - its first ever gig in Devon - to help raise money to keep the youth club open. The concert will be at Hatherleigh Community Centre on Friday, April 17, at 3.00pm and will be a family show suitable for all ages. There will be well known classic children's songs and lots of audience participation, silly props and musical instruments. On the following evening the youth club is holding a Live and Loud gig featuring local bands from Croyde and Bideford and a curry night as another fund-raising venture.More details from Jane Elliott on 07773 679559 or via e-mail:-jane@seize-the-moment.net
