COMBE Martin community projects have been invited to apply to see if they could benefit from a legacy fund left to the parish church.

Proceeds from the sale of a bungalow legacy have created the Margaret Clennell Gift Fund in honour of the lady who left her property to St Peter ad Vincula Church in 1931.

A third has gone to help the Church of England's overseas work, but the Parochial Church Council has decided the remaining two thirds should be made available to support projects of benefit to the community of Combe Martin and the church's work there.

Groups or individuals may apply for grants in writing, giving details of how the project would benefit the community, what funding is needed and how it would be spent. For more details contact PCC treasurer Dave Richards on (01271) 883880 or write to him at: Springside Cottage, Rews Lane, Combe Martin, EX34 0DW. Alternatively call PCC secretary Sue Lane on 882011 or write to: 2 Mansion Cottages, King Street, Combe Martin, EX34 0AD.
