Grant success for Torrington Town Hall

BUILDING conservationists in Torrington are celebrating the award of a �1,000 grant from Torridge District Council.
The Great Torrington Buildings Preservation Trust will use the money to buy new equipment for Torrington Town Hall.
Trust chairman Harry Cramp, said the aim of the group was to provide an area for social events and functions and in the long term, to hire the hall out to groups.
"It's a community hall and we hope that by purchasing this new kitchen equipment with our grant, we will be able to offer catering at community events," he said.

The Trust applied for and received the money from local district councillor Margaret Brown as part of the Councillor Community Grants Scheme.
