Grandma and grandson join forces for chemo appeal

Fund-raising for local cancer appeal spans the generation gap

YOUNG and old have been joining forces to help raise money for a brand new chemotherapy unit and day centre in North Devon.

Grandma and grandson team Josh and Margaret May, from Harracott, have presented 1,350 to the appeal following two events held earlier this year.

The money was raised from donations at Margaret’s 80th birthday and from money raised at the Mayhem Music Festival, co-organised by Josh this summer in Umberleigh.

Ian Roome, fundraising manager, said: “I am really grateful to Josh and Margaret and want to thank them for all their efforts and of course everyone who has contributed towards this generous donation for the Chemotherapy Appeal.”
