SIR - A confidence trick has been played on certain postcodes by the people responsible for the digital switchover.
To make people more comfortable with the expense of changing their televisions, their publicity stated to everyone in writing the TV channels that would be available on Freeview. We were also told to retune our TVs at regular intervals.
After we all went digital we were told to retune and many of us found channels which we had initially received, had been removed. When I phoned DigitalUK to ask about ITV3 and ITV4, I was told we would no longer be able to receive these channels on Freeview in our area.
They must have known which channels we would receive and which we would lose. I feel the broadcasters should reinstate these channels. If there is a shortage, then remove such channels as Rabbit and Dating. We don't need these in our homes. As is usual, Ilfracombe and local areas come off worst.
