BARNSTAPLE businesses will be burning rubber on the go-kart track in aid of the Children's Hospice South West this summer.A team from the North Devon Gazette has been invited to go head to head with eight other local firms in the inaugural Absolute Driver Solutions "Absolute Challenge" on Saturday, June 14.The two-hour endurance race at the North Devon Go-Kart Track at Pottington is being generously staged by ADS boss Paul Momber and operations manager Steve Fowler."The idea is for local businesses to get together and have a bit of fun while raising a money for a very good cause," said Mr Momber."All we ask is that each company taking part donate £50 to the hospice."The team that completes the most laps of the circuit within the two-hour time limit will be presented with the Muriel Momber Cup, named after Mr Momber's late mother, at a presentation supper being held at the Cork and Bottle, in Barnstaple High Street."It promises to be a great day of racing and I'm sure each of the businesses involved will be going all out to win," added Mr Fowler."If it's a success, we hope to run the event with a new challenge each year.
