A TEAM from the North Devon Gazette will be going head to head with eight other local businesses in aid of the Children's Hospice South West on Saturday.The Gazette will be behind the wheel of one of nine teams in the inaugural Absolute Driver Solutions "Absolute Challenge" on at the North Devon Go-Kart Track at Pottington.Also burning rubber during the two-hour endurance race will be event sponsors Absolute Driver Solutions, Atlas Packaging, Advanced Pallet Systems, Smurfit Kappa, Ilfracombe Wholesale Goods, Devonshire Pine, Youings and Lantern FM.Winners of the event - organised by ADS boss Paul Momber and operations manager Steve Fowler - will be presented with the Muriel Momber Cup, named after Mr Momber's late mother, at a presentation supper being held at the Cork and Bottle, in Barnstaple High Street."The idea is for local businesses to get together and have a bit of fun while raising a money for a very good cause," said Mr Momber."All we ask is that each company taking part donate £50 to the hospice."Supporters are welcome to come to cheer the teams on from around 3.30pm."There will be nine team buckets for members of the public to make a donation to the hospice. Every donation will stand the chance of winning one of five six-minute kart drives around the track, kindly donated by the track owners," said Mr Fowler.
