Councillors say new office space is much needed in Bideford as they approve plans for new offices and parking.
Caddsdown Industrial Estate in Bideford is set to expand with ‘in demand’ new facilities.
Proposals for the new offices and car parking were approved unanimously at Torridge District Council’s plans committee meeting today (Thursday).
Councillor Mervyn Langmead said: “We need extra premises within the town for people to use.
“There a shortage everywhere in town of small workspaces.”
The council has set aside £310,000 in its 2016/17 budget for the next phase of the project.
It hopes the offices, which will have solar panels on the roof, will be available to rent from autumn.
