Girls send parcels for our heroes

SIR - I am writing about the article about Cpl Sarah Marriott serving in Afghanistan (Gazette, October 14). What a brave young woman; she is one of our many heroes out there.
My daughter Jasmin, aged nine, and her friend started a scheme here in Hadleigh, Suffolk, and have so far managed to send up to 200 parcels to soldiers in Afghanistan. Both their daddies are serving out there and they felt they needed to do something so all the soldiers know that people are still thinking of them here in the UK.
I am originally from Bideford as is my husband Stuart Alexander (Buster) and my mum rang me and gave me the information about this young brave girl from Westward Ho! We will most definitely be sending her some parcels, as well as her fellow soldiers.
Jasmin and her friend have already started wrapping Christmas presents for the soldiers. Please help us in supporting our heroes in afghanistan like Cpl Marriott who will be missing their families.
