A 12-year-old girl – stuck in mud up to her waist in a field at North Molton – has been rescued by fire services.

The girl had been trapped for an hour and a half, and was suffering from hypothermia.

The incident was reported at 1.07pm on Sunday, February 11.

One fire appliance from South Molton and the specialist rescue team from Barnstaple attended the incident.

Crews arrived on the scene and requested that an ambulance attend as the girl had hypothermia.

Fire crews managed to free the girl from the mud, and she was left in the care of paramedics.
