Giant log removed from Bideford Quay

A giant visitor to Bideford Quay was removed before it could do any damage.

A GIANT log has been removed after washing up in the Torridge Estuary alongside Bideford Quay.

The log was estimated to have weighed around 10 tons and was removed yesterday afternoon (Monday) before it could damage any boats.

The rotting piece of oak could have sunk or caused substantial damage should any craft have hit it.

The trunk is believed to have been washed downstream as a result of the recent high winds.
