Dowland Country Fair and Dog Show will be taking place near Winkleigh on Sunday.

Now in its sixth year, the show boasted more than 3,000 visitors last year and is hoping for more this weekend.

There will be craft stalls, dog shows, falconry displays, countryside exhibitions, food stands and vintage vehicles on show.

Star the Duck will be appearing, as well as musical acts and a chance to buy signed books from North Devon author Michael Morpurgo.

Sue Folland, festival organiser, said: “Each year we are thrilled to see so many people turning up to support our local show.

“It’s wonderful to see all of the new and returning faces each year, and we are so grateful for all of the help and support we receive from people in the community, helping to make the show such a success year upon year.

“We will keep our fingers crossed for more glorious sunshine this year, but whatever the weather, we guarantee people a lovely day out with plenty to do, rain or shine.

“It really is the perfect Father’s day treat.”

The show runs from 11am to 5pm at Furze Park Cross near Winkleigh (EX19 8PQ). Adult entry costs £5.
