TIME is running out for nearly 5,000 people across North Devon wanting to vote in next summer's European Parliament and Devon County Council elections. The election team based at the Civic Centre, in Barnstaple, said that 4,933 of the 44,000 electoral registration forms sent to every home in North Devon this autumn had not been returned. If people aren't on the register to vote - which must be published by December 5 next month - they will be barred from taking part in either election next June.Judith Dark, electoral administrator, said: "It is important for people to register as electors as it allows them to vote at elections."We get a number of calls on election day from people who have gone to a polling station only to find that they cannot vote and unfortunately this is because they have failed to complete and return their registration form - don't let this happen to you!"For further information about electoral registration, contact the Elections Team on (01271) 388277, or e-mail elections@northdevon.gov.uk
