GEORGE Kempton of Barnstaple Rotary Club, has been installed as District Governor in a ceremony at Bickleigh Castle, near Tiverton.He is only the third member of the club to hold this top office in its 84-year history.Mr Kempton, from Tawstock, has taken over the office from Felicity Murdin, of Exeter. He will spend the next year representing Rotary's 1,500 members in Devon.He said: "It is both a huge honour and a great responsibility to have been elected as district governor and I am aware of the challenges ahead."Mr Kempton has served as his club's secretary for three years and was its president in 2002. He has also held several offices at district level.Last year, his wife, Margaret, was district chairman of Inner Wheel.
