PEOPLE of Bideford are being invited to a meeting to decide what sort of festivities and celebrations they would like as future attractions in the town.Artist and college lecturer Sue Russell was the woman behind two spectacular New Year's Eve carnivals in the town. She was unable to continue them last year and has had many comments about people's disappointment. Now, through her community arts group Flying Colours, she is seeking new ideas and new help to stage more events in the future."This is an opportunity for people to say what they would like to see in the future, continuing a New Year's Eve carnival, having an earlier one around Christmas or, perhaps, something in the summer - and what they can do to help," said Sue."Flying Colours is about celebrations and parades and the community working together."The open meeting is being held at Durrant House Hotel on February 21 from 2pm to 4pm.As well as discussing possible future events, it will include film of the last New Year's Eve carnival in 2006.
