FUND-raiser Joan Walton celebrated 25 years of charity work in Barnstaple Pannier Market in style on Friday -Victorian style!

A cream Victorian dress, complete with hat, gloves and parasol was the latest in a long line of colourful and spectacular outfits Joan, 75, has worn while running her charity stall.

On Friday she was joined by representatives of six of her favourite charities which have benefited from her efforts over the years - the North Devon Hospice, British Heart Circle, Children's Hospice South West, CLIC Sargent, Devon Air Ambulance and the Cats Protection League.

Deputy mayor of Barnstaple Cllr Ian Roome also brought congratulations and good wishes from the town council and market traders' committee chairman Carolyn Read, presented a bouquet of flowers on behalf of the market.
