The shopping centre in Bideford has a whole range of free family activities on offer during the summer holidays.

Atlantic Village in Bideford is hosting a range of activities throughout the summer holidays for the whole family.

The centre has installed two free table tennis tables outside for shoppers to enjoy for the six weeks of summer.

Every Wednesday there will also be a free mini tennis court for all to use from 11am-3pm.

Jean Sharples, centre manager, said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for family and friends to come and have a game of table tennis together for free.

“The tables will be available at Atlantic Village until the end of September for people to enjoy and we encourage everyone to come up and give them a go.”

On Wednesdays coaches from Atlantic Racquet Centre will be at the centre offering advice and tips for both budding tennis and table tennis players.

Tom Vinall, head coach at Atlantic Racquet Centre, said: “We’re here for the six weeks of summer offering free coaching, and also telling people about our new centre just up the road.”

Other events throughout the summer include free face painting in the main shopping mall from 11am to 2pm on Mondays.

There’s a giant Connect Four game in the piazza which is free to use too, and on August 27-28 there will be a food and craft fair throughout the centre.

Jean added: “With our newly opened Peacocks store completing the mall, we’re looking forward to a busy summer.”
