Councils are offering a number of free parking days in Bideford, Holsworthy and Torrington next month.

COUNCILS across Torridge have teamed up to offer a number of free parking days in the run up to Christmas.

Torridge District Council and town councils in Torrington, Holsworthy and Bideford will be providing free parking so shoppers can take advantage of the market towns.

Philip Collins, Torridge council leader, said: “We’re pleased to be giving back a little to the shoppers in Torrington, Holsworthy and Bideford which all have so much to offer.

“I hope these free parking days will encourage more people to find that out for themselves. Let’s get out there and support our local shops.”

Free parking will be offered at the following dates and times:

Holsworthy – free all day December 11 at Manor car park and December 18 at Manor and Well Park car park.

Torrington – free all day in Sydney House and Barley Grove car park on December 7 and 8 and free all day in all car parks on December 23.

Bideford – free parking next Saturday (Nov 30) and Sunday (Dec 1) in Bridge Street, the Manor (not Sunday), the Quay, the Pannier Market and the Pill car parks.

Also in Bideford, free parking on December 7 and 14 in the above car parks from 10am, and free parking all day in all car parks on December 21.
