Plans have been approved to turn the former Natwest bank into a bar and restaurant.

PLANS to turn the former Natwest bank in Braunton into a bar and restaurant have been approved by North Devon Council.

The proposals submitted by the owners of Squire’s Fish Restaurant include extending the building on Exeter Road to create a brand new bar and restaurant, employing between 15 and 25 people.

The restaurant is planned to cover two floors with an outdoor terrace area.

The building was taken over by Natwest in the 1980s, but the bank vacated the village in November 2011 and the building has stood vacant since.
