The Northern Devon Foodbank has begun putting together activity packs to help youngsters stay entertained during Easter.

The foodbank has been supporting children during every school holiday since summer 2012.

Duncan Withall, the foodbank’s chairman, said: “Our school meals replacement programme is well established but we are pleased that the Government has elected to cover this service for Easter this year, taking the pressure off ourselves. That gives us the opportunity to do more varied activities and we are going to offer activity packs to all (not just foodbank clients) children eligible for free school meals.”

All the packs will be given away free of charge at Easter. Parents will be able to collect them from a number of locations and a list will be published soon.

The cost of making up each pack is between £6.50 and £7.00. If you would like to donate money to help the foodbank put together more packs visit: https://portal.mydona.com/assets/webPay/index.php?cid=119.
