Torridge Pilot Gig Club helped the North Devon Hospice with their annual Floating By event on Sunday, two of their gig boats pulling the memorial raft from Instow and down the estuary at sunset.

The event, held every summer, was an opportunity for people to remember a loved one, with a large raft decorated with flowers, floated out with the tide at Instow.

People gathered on the beach to say farewell to their loved ones and were invited to write them a message, place it with a flower on the raft and watch it float down the estuary at sunset.
