Low level flood alert issued by Environment Agency covers river catchments and low-lyng coastal areas in North Devon.
A flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency (EA) for river catchments between Braunton and Combe Martin.
The low level alert is valid from 4.30pm today, including the River Caen, Bradiford Water, River Yeo and coastal streams.
A spokesman for the EA said: “River catchments are generally wet, and are responding quickly to rainfall.
“Rainfall totals of up to 20 millimetres are forecast for today, (Monday) and up to a further 20 millimetres is expected tomorrow.
“We expect river levels to rise and flooding of low lying land is possible.
“This flood alert, is based on weather forecast information. Weather forecasts, for later in the week show the potential for significant rain on Wednesday.
“We are continuing to monitor the situation, and will update this information as the situation changes. Flooding is possible from 8pm until the early hours.”
