High tides and strong winds tonight (Tuesday) spark warning of possible flooding from Environment Agency.

A flood alert has been issued for the North Devon coast between Hartland Point and Lynmouth.

With high tides and strong winds predicted tonight (Tuesday) and tomorrow morning, the Environment Agency has warned of ‘minor spray and wave overtopping’.

A spokesman said: “Flooding of low lying areas, roads and promenades is possible.

“Environment Agency staff will be monitoring the conditions and operating sea defences.”
