Firefighters’ hair-raising campaign

Hairy top lips all round at Bideford Fire Station in aid of the Movember campaign.

FIREFIGHTERS in Bideford are keeping a hairy top lip throughout this month as part of the national Movember campaign to raise awareness of men’s health and to raise funds for the battle against prostate and other cancers that affect men, through Cancer Research and the Movember Foundation.

Mo Bros become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November and through their actions and words raise awareness by prompting conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.

Twelve firefighters at the Bideford station are taking part in the initiative.

Group Commander Neil Blackburn said their efforts were to raise awareness of all aspects of men’s lives, including diet and lifestyle choices as well as cancer.
