Fire in Barnstaple ground floor flat

Fire fighters called to Barbican Terrace last night (Tuesday) after fire broke out in the evening.

A Barnstaple flat was damaged in a fire in Barbican Terrace last night (Tuesday).

Fire fighters were called to the ground floor flat in the multiple occupancy house at 8.40pm.

Crews used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to put out the flames.

They ventilated the property, but the ground floor flat suffered 20 per cent fire damage and 80 per cent smoke damage.
