Ambulance crews called for back up to rescue unconscious man near Holsworthy on Friday.

Fire fighters were called to the rescue of a man stuck on top of a silage pit in Clawton, near Holsworthy.

The 62-year-old man was reported to be unconscious and not responding by ambulance crews at around 9.20pm on Friday.

Shortly after arriving and liaising with the ambulance crew, the fire appliance from Holsworthy was requested, for manpower, due to the location of casualty.

The man was eventually rescued by the fire service and ambulance crews, who brought him down on a stretcher.

He was then left in the care of paramedics and later conveyed to hospital.
